December 99 DXpedition : The antennas

Just part of the antenna system we had up during the December 1999 DX trip.
Rather surprisingly the 75 degree antenna outperformed both the other two. The 80 degree antenna
was a dud, we heard nothing at all on it. We suspect the reason might have been that it was situated
too close to the 300 metre long fenceline just visible on the right of the photo.

Another view of the antenna and earth pole.
During the day when the DX is not in, the Ninety-Mile Beach is just a few
minutes away, with plenty of terrific places to go swimming or fishing.
